Alan Spergel is the founder and President of Spergel & Associates Inc­. and MSI Spergel Inc., licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy.  Alan is responsible for implementing the firm's philosophy to assist debtors in a sensitive, confidential manner, while maintaining the dignity of the individual through the process. Today Alan oversees the firm's entire insolvency team. 
 

Alan is also past Chair of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP).  As well, Alan serves on the Management Board for the OSB. 

 

Alan has also held the following positions in the past:

  • Co-chair of the CAIRP/IIC committee responsible for responding to the Personal Insolvency Task Force’s Study and Recommendations for the next set of Amendments to The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.  
  • Director of the Ontario Insolvency Practitioners' Association
  • Director of the Ontario Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals
  • Co-chair of the Personal Insolvency Practice Committee of CAIRP from 2002-2006
  • President of the North York District Chartered Accountants’ Association  

Alan is currently Director of Camp Wishbone Foundation, an organization which assists in the Greater Toronto Community, challenged youths who are without family support.

CARL RITCHIE, CCCE, CFE, CIRP, Trustee in Bankruptcy

Carl has extensive experience in Insolvency matters, particularly in the Personal Insolvency area for over 25 years.  Carl's received his trustee designation in 1992 and is a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals.  Carl is responsible for the coordination of all activities between the firm’s offices, primarily Personal Bankruptcies and Consumer Proposals.  A Certified Consumer Credit Executive and was granted a Certified Fraud Examiner Designation in 1996.  Currently OAIRP representative on The Toronto Registrar Court's Committee.

Chris has been practicing exclusively in Insolvency matters since 1988 and currently manages our Mississauga and Brampton offices. He obtained his CA designation in 1988.

Chris has a specialty working with Professionals and higher income individuals whose financial problems are primarily tax related.

He always enjoys bringing a relaxed, low-key and informal atmosphere to a serious problem while helping debtors.

COLIN BOULTON, BBM, CA, CIRP, Trustee

Colin has been helping individuals solve their financial difficulties for the past 10 years as a Trustee in Bankruptcy. He currently manages our eastern offices including Peterborough, Lindsay and Oshawa, in both corporate and personal matters.

At SPERGEL, Colin uses his own hands-on approach and personal touch to assist individuals in dealing and coping with their stressful financial problems. He is skilled in providing practical solutions. Colin has a keen interest in people, which helps make the debtor's path an easier one.

FRANK S. KISLUK, BA, CA, Trustee

Frank has practiced as a Trustee in Bankruptcy since 1977.  He manages the firm’s Toronto Central office, which services both consumer and business insolvencies.  His practice includes a specialty in debt restructuring for both high income individuals and corporations.  He has, over many years, dealt extensively with Canada Revenue Agency as a creditor in these restructurings.

 

Frank is the author of several books on insolvency, the most recent being “Taking Control of Your Financial Life”, a guide to understanding consumer proposals and bankruptcies.  He is a frequent public speaker on insolvency-related topics, appearing on radio, television and in the print media.

 

Frank has sat on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Insolvency Practitioners’ Association.  He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants,  Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and is a charter member of The Insolvency Institute of Canada.

 

Frank brings to his practice a high sensitivity to the stresses that accompany financial pain.  He is a good listener and always strives to help develop the right solution for each situation.

Senior Vice President in charge of Hamilton/Niagara, Trevor has been practicing in the Insolvency field locally for over 11 years.  A licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy, Trevor has broad experience in both commercial and consumer insolvency engagements.  He brings a practical approach to providing innovative solutions for difficult situations.  Trevor believes strongly in providing excellent client service.
