Alan Spergel is the founder and President of SPERGEL, licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy. Alan is responsible for implementing the firm's philosophy to assist debtors in a sensitive and confidential manner, while maintaining the dignity of the individual throughout the process. Today, Alan oversees the firm's entire insolvency team. Alan is also past Chair of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP). As well, Alan serves on the Management Board for the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.

- Member of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy's Management Advisory Board 2009-2011
- Co-chair of the CAIRP-IIC committee responsible for responding to the Personal Insolvency Task Force's Study and Recommendations for the next set of Amendments to The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
- Director of the Ontario Insolvency Practitioners' Association
- Director of the Ontario Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals
- Co-chair of the Personal Insolvency Practice Committee of CAIRP from 2002-2006
- President of the North York District Chartered Accountants' Association
Alan is currently a Director of the Camp Wishbone Foundation, an organization which assists challenged youths who are without family support in the Greater Toronto Community.
